Welcome! Here are some pictures from our climbing trip to Shipton Spire in the Karakoram range.

The approach was terrible. Two miles of snow covered glacier from our basecamp to the start of our climb. The winter of 2005 had a record amount of snow in this area. The sun was very strong during the day and made the snow to soft to walk on after nine am. We were forced to start quite early every morning to be able to move our bags any distance at all. This picture is Erica strapping on her crampons at four am, it is about 23 F or -5 C.
